The Summer Lunch Program has been sponsored by MUST Ministries since 1995. During the summer months children who are eligible to receive a free or reduced lunch during the school year are also given the opportunity to have a free lunch delivered to them by way of volunteers. Monday through Friday a child receives a sack lunch that contains, at least, a sandwich, a salty snack, a sweet snack and a juice box. Our volunteers, combined with community effort make it possible to provide over 9,000 lunches to the children of Cherokee County each week.
Why We Need Your Help
Because YOU are what makes this program possible. As our program continues to grow and we meet the needs of more and more children every year, our need for donations increases. Last year alone we fed close to 2,000 children daily in our local communities, but we can’t do it without YOU!
Hours are Monday-Friday from 9am-2pm. These are what each position entails:
LEAD VOLUNTEER: Lead Volunteers are needed to oversee the daily routine. Under the guidance of MUST Ministries, you will ensure the day to day activities of the MUST Summer Lunch Program at the Host Site. Arrival time is 9:00am. If you are interested in serving as a Lead Volunteer, please contact email@example.com.
CHECKER & PACKER: You will ensure the freshness and accuracy of the many lunches distributed. This is the perfect chance for your children to help volunteer their summer mornings. MUST Ministries Volunteer Policy is age 10 -17 with their parent or guardian. Volunteers are needed daily from 9:30am-11:30am. To volunteer as a Checker or Packer, click here.

DRIVER & RIDERS: While all volunteer positions are important, the driver/rider teams have the privilege of connecting to the children as they deliver the lunches in person. This kind of face-to-face interaction provides a unique ministry opportunity. Driver/riders do go out daily on the routes as teams. Grab a friend and sign up as a team or you can volunteer for either position and we will provide you with a teammate. Driver/rider teams are needed daily from 10:30am-12:30pm. The minimum age for drivers is 25 and for riders it's 18. A background check is required. To volunteer as a Driver or Rider, click here.
